The Saturday Academy
A place for the foster children to come on Saturday morning to build both their creativity and critical thinking skills by enriching their minds in the arts, sciences, and math which are the fundamental groundwork towards success in school, work and life.
The Mentoring and Tutoring Program
The Mentoring program provides the one on one caring, encouraging, and supportive attention each foster child needs to reach their fullest potential.
“Statistics show that children who actively participate in a mentoring program are 52% less likely than their peers to skip a day of school and 37% less likely to skip a class.”
(Public/Private Ventures study of Big Brothers Big Sisters).
Stats pulled from mentoring.org
We believe that if children receive outside help on academic concepts they are struggling with they can eventually excel without limitations.
The Clothing Closet
The Clothing Closet is designed to alleviate some of the initial burden of providing clothing for the child that is placed with foster parents. This program will assist foster parents by providing the necessities such as clothing, books, toys, and even furniture so that the foster parent can initially focus on giving the children the love and nurturing they need rather than being worried about how they will clothe and provide for multiple children.
